Patient Assistance Program

For uninsured individuals, the Gilead Advancing Access Patient Assistance Program can help cover the cost of Truvada or Descovy for PrEP.

Requirements
The program is available to uninsured individuals, regardless of immigration status. The household income limit for the program is 500% FPL ($60,300 per year in all states except Hawaii and Alaska). Applicants will be asked to submit further documentation as proof of income.
Coverage
The co-pay card covers the patient’s out-of-pocket costs for PrEP up to $7,200 per year.

WITH INSURANCE

Cost-sharing Assistance Program

For patients with insurance co-pays, Gilead Advancing Access is a co-pay assistance program available from the manufacturer of Truvada and Descovy, the brand name medications approved for PrEP.

Our community partners

Through partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs) and local non-profit clinics, we are able to subsidize the cost to provide consultations, at-home lab tests, and prescription delivery so that it’s entirely for free to you, the patient.

Yes, if you’re covered under a parent’s or spouse’s insurance plan, you can use it to cover the cost of your PrEP medication.
What are PrEP Payment Assistance Programs?
Before starting PrEP, you’ll need to complete a series of lab tests, including:

  • Advancing Access: Offered by Gilead Sciences, this program helps uninsured patients access Truvada® or Descovy®.
  • Patient Advocate Foundation: Provides financial assistance for those with limited coverage or resources.
  • Gilead Co-Pay Card: Reduces or eliminates co-pays for insured patients who need Descovy®.
